GOOD BUT TRICKY CONDITIONS ON THE FIRST SAILING DAY

The first sailing day of 23rd Izola Spring Cup began with the Bora (NE wind), which shifted to a sea breeze and then turned back to the prevailing Bora, in which the Race committees of the red course (Laser radial W & M, 420) managed to finalize 2 races in Laser R and 3 in 420, and the green course (470 M & W, Laser standard and Laser 4.7) finished the 3 planed races in all classes.In quite tricky conditions the most succcessfull competitors in 470 were the locals Mikulin-Prinčič (SLO/1., 4., 2/7 points), 2 points behind is the crew from Trieste Košuta-Farneti (ITA/7., 1., 1./9) with just a point advantage to Tidd-Dolinšek (/SLO4., 2., 4/10). The fastest of just four women crews are Lena Hess and Eva-Maria Schimak (AUT).In Laser std. Kuzmanić (CRO/1., 2., 3./ 6 točk) has 4 points advantage to, Tonko Saydukov (UKR/2., 6., 2/10), followed by Marko Pereša (CRO/7., 5., 1./13).Best in laser 4.7 were Stefano Campanacci Silva (ITA/2., 1., 4/ 7 points), Bartol Komadina (CRO/9., 2., 1/12) and Domen Vasič Stepančič (/SLO/1., 9., 5/15).On the "red course" we have the German crew Winkel-Thielemann leading (1., 2., 2./5 points), followed by two Austrian crews: Meister-Hussl (2., 5., 4./11) and Simmer-Weiss (10., 1.,3/14). After 2 races in mens Laser R is in the lead Walter Rasi Bajons (AUT/1., 5./6 points) folowed by the local Jakob Božič (SLO/8., 1./9) and Ben Schwarz (GER/3., 9./12). In Laser R women Maruša Kraševac had the best day (SLO/2., 1./3) with Elisabetta Macchini (ITA, 1., 2./3) having an equal score, and Špela Zotter (SLO/7., 3./10) as third. A sunnyerwith more stable wind conditions second day is waiting the 207 crews today.
